Scholarships & Fellowships

For each of the above memberships, Scholarship rates are available to government employees, teachers, students, veterans, and single moms. (We especially encourage minority-identifying persons — non-cis, non-binary, queer, of color — with financial need to apply.) The scholarship community membership is $50 per month; the scholarship full membership is $125 per month. The one-time registration fee is reduced to $25. To apply, please fill out the appropriate membership form above, and specify your interest in a scholarship rate.

Thanks to our lifetime rubies, we are also offering two Fellowships for those with financial need:

The Dr. Carolyn M. Kaelin Fellowship will be given to a writer or artist of color with financial need. This is a full, one-year membership to The Ruby. Please email staff@therubysf.com to inquire about The Dr. Carolyn M. Kaelin Fellowship.

The Leonore Peyser Davis Writing Fellowship will be given to a young writer and/or poet to attend our weekend writers retreat in Spring 2018 (date TBD). Please email staff@therubysf.com to inquire about The Leonore Peyser Davis Writing Fellowship.

The Leonore Peyser Davis Music Fellowship will be given to a young musician to attend our weekend music workshop (date TBD). Please email staff@therubysf.com to inquire about The Leonore Peyser Davis Music Fellowship.

Lifetime

We also offer LIFETIME memberships. The Ruby is entirely member funded and takes no outside investments; lifetime memberships help support our commitment to scholarship rates and keeping the arts in San Francisco. Email staff@therubysf.com to inquire about lifetime memberships (in addition to a lifetime of full membership, these include a scholarship in your name).

The Ruby is a space for women-identifying and non-binary individuals to enjoy the camaraderie and congeniality of one another. We reserve the right to only accept applicants who we believe will contribute to, and not take away from, the private and intimate atmosphere of the club and workspace. Club, event, and work facilities are maintained for members' use only.
