Thi Bui will join us in a discussion and Q&A on her award winning graphic memoir "The Best We Could Do," followed by her popular, out-of-the-box, interactive craft talk and mini workshop:  "Wild Possibilities with Comics, Sequential Art, and Text/Image Relationships."

​Join us at the Ruby for a Saturday afternoon of creative inspiration, doodling, and refreshing chats, snacks, and laughs with Thi!

​This is designed to be an intimate, interactive experience, with limited seats available. Tickets are sliding scale for nonmembers to help support the Ruby and artist costs ($20-40, click the register button and name your price!). Members receive discounted $15 rate.

​About The Artist:

​Thi Bui is a writer and artist from Viet Nam, California, and New York, now planting roots in New Orleans. Best known for her award-winning graphic memoir, The Best We Could Do, she has also been a longtime educator in public high schools, a professor of comics, an organizer and artist-activist, an ambivalent sculptor and puppeteer, a fledgling screenwriter, and an award-winning illustrator of children’s books and comics journalism.
